The meeting began about 11:20
- ice rink has not gone to Design
Commission yet
- originally told it would be July 10, then July 24 or August
14. None of these occurred. The next possibility is August
28.
- Edison land
- Edison says the fence posts concrete on the end debris are the
city's
responsibility, but weed cutting is Edison's responsiblity
- on recent walk through the park saw lots of weeds and other
debris in the "buffer zone" on east side and also dirt piled up between
the park fence and backyard fence of northernmost Hermanos residence.
- street lights installed
- street lights we requested on Del Vina Street and Avocado Ave
have been installed
- petition for Vineyard Lane has not been completed and turned in
yet
- Mayor's workshop on Sep 16
- Have received a letter
from the Mayor's office inviting/requesting representatives at a
workshop covering city issues on September 16 in the auditorium of the
Central Library. Anyone want to go?
- development standards
- City
council members have asked
staff to look at possibilities for restricting residential
mansionization and other
"out of character" development. Including requirements for
commercial buildings to be built right up to the street property
line. Supposedly after some
research staff will set up meetings for public comment.
- RV storage restrictions letter
- Shared
a letter received from lady in another neighborhood who is trying to
get ordinance to restrict RV storage in front yards of
residences. It includes a picture showing a giant RV sitting on a
driveway and extending right up to the sidewalk. Currently it is
legal as long as no one is living in it. If anyone is interested
in helping her project, just ask for her contact info.
- anything
else attendees wish to discuss
- Dramatic
increase in graffiti has been noticed in the area recently. Why
is there such an upsurge? Speculation as to whether it is an
indication of drug gangs or just miscreant unsupervised kids out of
school.
- Keep the
Graffitti Hotline phone number 626 744-7622 handy and call
graffitti you see in as soon as you can. Does not matter whether it is
on public or private property. The city crews will come and paint
it out within a day or two.
Next meeting is September 9,
same
time, same place.
Adjourned about 12:15 pm.
