Advisory Concept Design Commisson Review of Ice Rink Project

Summary

At the conclusion of a rather disorganized meeting, the Design Commission voted to recommend the City Council NOT accept the design as it was presented.  This was based on a combination of factors over which the Design Commission is not supposedly responsible (suitablility of site for the purpose) as well as building design preferences (have building height step down with site slope instead of a single roof line with stepping down base, sign, entryway), and a lack of details provided about building materials and landscaping.

The following Drawings are all by the city contracted the albert group architects and are annotated as follows: "The drawings and specifications and ideas, designs and arrangements represented thereby are and shall remain the property of the architect and no part thereof shall be copied disclosed to others or used connection with any other work or project other than the specific project for which they have been prepared and developed, without the written consent of the architect.  Visual contact with these drawings or specifications shall constitute conclusive evidence of acceptance of these restrictions."
